MIAMI – According to a spokesman for University of Miami Hospital, a Miami man is in critical condition after using a port-a-potty on Taco Tuesday. The man was rushed directly into ICU after he passed out from entering a portable toilet at a local construction site.
“Locating the port-a-potty directly across from Taco Bell was always a huge risk,” said George Cassinelli, supervisor for Biggins Construction. “On Taco Tuesday there’s a lot more…traffic…in and out of there, but we thought the system could handle it. Apparently we were wrong.”
Regulations already exist for properly venting port-a-potties, but apparently severe situations can overcome the expected air exchange rates, result in potential overexposure. OSHA responded to our request for comment stating that while they do regulate “almost every conceivable aspect of construction safety,” they somehow missed this one.
