SAN FRANCISCO – Tired of having to constantly endure ridicule from their ‘woke’ peers for the use of “male” and “female” to describe extension cord and cable ends, Gender-Bender Cables debuted a line of gender-neutral extension and removable power cords on Kickstarter this week.
“These new cords forego traditional labels of male-female terminations and usher in a new era of gender-neutral cords that don’t offend the sensitivities of today’s more ‘woke’ consumer,” said a spokesperson for Gender-Bender Cables. “Instead of the traditional ‘male’ and ‘female’ ends, GB’s new gender-neutral cables use ‘active thrust’ technology. These forego former stereotypes, adding a never-before-seen hybrid connector which transcends both ‘the connector formerly known as male’ and ‘the connector formerly known as female’ plugs and outlets.”
Asked how the cables will interact with existing outlets and sockets, GB representatives replied, “It’s not our problem if traditional stereotypical home electrical systems refuse to be brought into the 21st century. We’re forging the future, so it’s up to these insensitive manufacturers to get with the program and stop enforcing primitive stereotypes.”
Tool Reporter attempted to contact Gender-Bender president Pat Bottom, but he/she/it/they/we/them was apparently recovering from an accident involving an unexpected electrical surge.
